Behind the scenes at the cinema
People sometimes ask what is involved in putting on a film night. The short answer is: more chairs than you would think.
The hall has to be turned around from whatever was on before, the screen comes down, the projector and sound get set up and tested, the chairs go out in rows, the tea urn goes on, and someone stands at the door with the ticket list. Afterwards it all goes back the other way, usually a good deal faster.
It takes a handful of people a couple of hours either side of a screening. If that sounds like something you would enjoy being part of, we would love to hear from you.
